We believe

You are not burned out from doing too much.
You are hollowed out from performing too long.

There is a particular exhaustion that has nothing to do with how hard you have worked. You have learned to override every signal your body sends. Tired? Push through. Overwhelmed? Reframe it as drive.

The loneliness isn't about being alone. It's about being surrounded by people who know your résumé but not your heaviness. Burnout is not a productivity problem. It is a belonging problem, and belonging cannot be found on a screen.

An invitation

Somewhere inside all of it, quietly, something essential has gone still.

You know what success looks like from the outside. You have built it, earned it, maintained it. Not broken. Not ungrateful. Just distant, as if the most alive part of you has been waiting for permission to return.

This is not a retreat from your life. It is a return to the version of you that existed before the world made you so busy. You don't arrive here to add one more thing. You arrive to set something down.

You don't come here to escape life. You come here to meet it more fully.

The activators of change

Why awe works

When you stand in the presence of something so vast it dissolves the self, a lion holding your gaze at dawn, your nervous system surrenders. The inner critic goes quiet. The default mode network, the part of the brain that runs your to-do list and your sense of self, quiets. And in that quiet, the body remembers what it was made for. This is not metaphor. This is neuroscience.

Why joy transforms

Not the performed kind. Not the joy that photographs well. The animal joy of waking before dawn because something in you is genuinely, unexpectedly, joyfully alive. An experience so saturated with awe and joy that the story you have been living inside cannot survive it unchanged.

Who this is for

Built for those who feel it more than they say it.

  • Quietly successful, and privately seeking.
  • You have traveled the world, and you are ready for the journey that goes inward.
  • Physically fit, intellectually curious, spiritually hungry.
  • You crave something real, not something comfortable.
  • You value conservation, indigenous wisdom, and genuine presence.
  • You can hold luxury and rawness in the same hand.

If Africa has been calling you, and you have kept finding reasons to wait, this was built for that moment.

Know before you go

The practical things

Everything you need to arrive easy. We guide you through all of it personally once your place is confirmed.

Getting there

+

Fly into Maun, Botswana, the gateway to the Delta. Every internal flight and transfer from there is included. We share your full arrival plan once you are booked.

Visas

+

Most travellers receive a visa on arrival or visa-free entry for short stays. We confirm the exact requirement for your passport before you travel.

Insurance

+

Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is required. It is straightforward to arrange and we point you to trusted providers.

Health

+

Botswana is a malaria area. A short course of antimalarial medication is recommended. A quick visit to a travel clinic before departure covers everything.

What to pack

+

Warm layers for cold desert mornings, light natural tones for warm days. June is dry and clear. A full packing guide follows your booking.

Luggage

+

Soft bags only for the light aircraft, up to 20 kg per guest. Everything else stores safely in Maun until your return.

Payment

+

A $500 deposit secures your place. The balance falls due 90 days before departure. Payment plans are discussed on your qualification call.

How physical is it?

+

Gentle. Game drives, slow walking safaris, and mokoro drifts. Nothing strenuous, everything optional. This is a journey for the spirit, and the body will follow.

Your presence heals the land

You do not visit the wild here. You help keep it wild.

A conservation levy is built into every seat, not as a charitable add on, but as part of the price of being here. Your presence is what makes the protection possible.

At Moela

Your stay funds habitat rehabilitation, wildlife corridor protection, and the continuation of ancestral ecological knowledge among the Bushmen of Ngande.

At Karangoma

Your presence supports anti poaching patrols, local livelihoods, and the long term future of the Okavango Delta ecosystem.

Conservation is not a feature of this journey. It is the reason it exists.

Questions

you want to ask

Can I come on my own?
Most guests come solo. This is a small, held group of no more than eight, and people arrive as strangers and leave as something closer to family. Shared suites are arranged with care, or ask us about private occupancy.
How physical is it?
Gentle. Yoga, breathwork, slow game drives, an optional walking safari and mokoro drift. Nothing strenuous, and everything is optional. If you can walk comfortably and want to rest deeply, you are ready.
Is it safe?
Yes. You are with experienced guides and hosts at every step, in established private camps. Botswana is one of the most stable and welcoming countries in Africa, and the wild here is respected, not feared.
What about dietary needs?
All meals are included and freshly prepared. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and most other needs are easily accommodated. You tell us when you book and the camps take care of the rest.
How do I secure my place?
A $500 deposit secures one of the eight places. Because this is by application, the first step is a short qualification call so we can make sure it is the right fit, both ways. From there we guide you through everything.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. After your deposit, the balance can be paid in instalments ahead of departure. We will walk you through a schedule that works for you on your call.

Ready for the next step?

The qualification call is the place to ask everything. There are no wrong questions.

BUMI Wellness

Soil & Soul is a BUMI Wellness production. BUMI is a Mexico-based wellness company founded by Pablo Gomez and Geovana Castaneda. We build experiences that bring the right people, the right places, and the right facilitators into the same room. We are particular about all three.

This journey began the way the best ones do: not with a business plan, but with a conversation. Pablo and Geo were dreaming out loud about Africa, the kind of dreaming that feels impossible until it doesn't. Days later, Gloria walked back into their lives having just returned from Botswana, lit up by the land, and ready to bring others to it. That was not a coincidence.

Gloria leads the expedition. Pablo holds the somatic and spiritual practice. BUMI holds everything else: the venues, the logistics, the care that goes into every detail before you arrive and after you return.

When you join Soil & Soul, you are not booking a trip. You are stepping into something three people built with intention, and a land that was waiting.
